The Raw Food Diet

An article in the Long Island Organic newspaper discusses the benefits of the raw food diet. Here is an excerpt from the article:

“Barbara Arroyo, a Type 2 diabetic, has been giving herself two shots of insulin every day for the past four years. Now 24 years old, she wants to try something new. ‘My goal is to get off the insulin totally’ she says as she leans against a bench in Sayville Marina Park and lifts up her shirt, pointing to the injection site on her hip. ‘From my research, I think that’s very doable.’ After watching the independent documentary Simply Raw:Reversing Diabetes in 30 Days, she’s going on a raw diet. In the film, six diabetics were able to stop taking insulin entirely after switching to a 100 % vegan, organic and uncooked diet. ‘I’m optimistic,’ Arroyo says. ‘It can’t hurt. It’s not experimental and it’s not dangerous. It’s eating healthy, really healthy, and I think that can only result in a positive outcome.’

Cancer. Multiple Sclerosis. Hepatitis. Diabetes. Modern medicine has not come up with any known cures for these diseases so far, but what if a solution could be found in something as simple as munching on a handful of sprouts or slurping a spinach smoothie? Believers in the power of raw foods say a back-to-the-basics diet of uncooked, unprocessed food can reverse illness and for many who have run out of conventional treatment options, this program is their best alternative remedy.”

The power of the raw food diet is amazing and takes us back to the prehistoric ages. We’ve created so many processed, unhealthy foods that no wonder why diseases are through the roof. Check out more of this article from www.longislandorganic.com
