Swim This Summer; The Benefits are Amazing!
Swimming engages multiple areas of the body, including muscle and cardiovascular health. Cardiovascular endurance lacks in many people, resulting in cardiovascular disease killing many each year. Swimming allows individuals who cannot exercise on land possibly due to knee problems, back problems, disabilities, or obesity to get their cardio in by taking the pressure off the problematic areas of the body thanks to buoyancy. Swimming also gives the body water resistance, making it harder to walk through than simply walking through air resulting in a better workout. This allows for greater muscle strength and endurance by building strong, lean and flexible muscles. When you swim faster, you are incorporating all three of these health musts: cardio, muscle strength and endurance. This summer, try swimming 2-3 times a week to get a faster metabolism, decrease body fat, and build and maintain lean muscle tissue.
