DREAM Smoothie
Dr. Baron has created an amazing morning smoothie designed to keep you healthy, fit, and thin. The DREAM Smoothie is packed with essentials vitamins and nutrients needed for the body. Below is the recipe and the YouTube how-to video:
Begin with a base of Silk Almond Milk or Hemp Bliss Hemp Milk…They make Dark Chocolate, Vanilla and Original. They also have unsweetened Original and Vanilla. I have not seen an unsweetened chocolate yet. Make sure that whichever company you choose, it does not include the ingredient “Carageenan”…bad stuff. You are safe with Silk and Hemp Bliss. Next in goes a banana followed with frozen Wyman’s Wild Blueberries (Costco) or frozen berries of your choice…(strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, etc)…Some people don’t like banana’s because of either taste or sugar content…The fiber in the smoothie will handle any blood sugar questions concerning the banana. The banana will thicken the smoothie and provide “texture”. The extra potassium doesn’t hurt either.
The following are a list of add-ins.
- Rice Protein or whey protein (I prefer rice because I don’t do dairy and the rice is much easier to digest)…I recommend Rockin Wellness, Nutri-biotic Rice Protein or Sun Warrior.
- Goji Berries (1 of the most nutrient dense foods on Earth…Considered the best anti-aging food period)
- Raw Almond Butter (mono-unsaturated fat, protein and fiber)
- Coconut Oil (MCT’s – Medium Chain Triglycerides…body doesn’t store them as fat, but burns them as ENERGY…great for skin. Anti-bacterial, Anti-fungal and Anti-microbial due to the presence of Lauric, Capric and Caprylic Acid (components of mommies breast milk…if they can build a baby, they can protect you from illness)
- Hemp Seeds (Omega Fatty Acids, protein and fiber)…due not confuse with the substance that is placed in long tubes and smoked while listening to Pink Floyd…Hemp seeds are the world’s best source of globulins which activate and fire-up the immune system like nobody’s business…
- Bee Pollen (Vitamins, minerals, live enzymes and amazing amino-acid profile…allergy knock-out extra-ordinaire)
- Aloe Vera (AMP’s – Aloe Mucilagenous Polysaccharides…tremendous for repairing the lining of the small and large intestine…great for the skin too and for cuts and bruises on the kiddies)
- Camu Camu (Vitamin C god – nothing else comes close…30X vitamin C of oranges)
- Maca (Adaptogen that balances out the endocrine system…also has plant sterols which decrease cholesterol)
- Raw Honey (A sweetener with vitamins, minerals and live enzymes…great for allergies)
- Raw Cacao (comes either as Nibs or powder)…super-anti-oxidant capability (highest food in the world on the ORAC scale which measures the ability of a food to combat free-radicals (bad guys)…gives the smoothie a deep, dark chocolate taste…remember, a little cacao goes a long way.
- Raw Cashews or whichever raw nut you prefer…just a small handful. (Roasted nuts are heated therefore beneficial fatty acids are rancid)
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not use all add-ins at the same time, as you will provide your body with so much nutrition that your brain may explode!!! Kaboom…
Mix and Match until you find those combinations that make you go….Yummo!!! (As Rachael Ray would say)
Remember, frozen fruit blends much better than room temp. fruit. It also keeps your smoothie very cold and flat out makes it taste better. Flash Frozen fruit loses very little nutrition…
